About David Parker

Australian photographer David ParkerDavid Parker was regarded as Australia’s top movie stills photographer in the 70’s and early 80’s.

The stills photographer on a movie set is responsible for the photographs that are used in publicity, advertising, posters and merchandising.

He photographed for The Australian Ballet, Australian Opera, Melbourne Theatre Company.

He photographed rock bands from Skyhooks to Air Supply, AC/DC and Sherbet as well as artists like Renee Geyer, Eartha Kitt, Bill Wyman and Dudley Moore.

In the mid eighties Parker left full time photography to become a film maker, starting with the seminal Australian Comedy MALCOLM which he wrote, shot and produced with director Nadia Tass. Parker still shoots stills – he has exhibited most recently in St Tropez with his son, John Tass Parker.

He is now focused on writing and cinematography.

Parker shot Kath and Kimderella – Kath and Kim’s exploits in Italy on the big screen.  In 2012 he shot Fatal Honeymoon with Harvey Keitel and most recently directed the movie The Menkoff Method with Noah Taylor, due for release in late 2014.
